20 wks. & 20 months

5.12.2017

April 14, 2017 - 20 wks & 20 months old

I can't believe I'm already half way through my pregnancy! The first couple months felt so long and tortuous but now that I'm feeling better I continually forget how far along I am and sometimes that I'm even pregnant...just kidding that never happens.

20 wks. - Baby #2
• I'm carrying baby girl #2 in my belly compared to my back which means I have zero back pain (completely opposite of Juniper) but lots of pelvic pain, the pressure anytime I stand up makes me waddle already!
• Baby #2 moves CONSTANTLY. Like Juniper moved a lot and I felt her super early, like 15 wks, but with this pregnancy I am constantly feeling her move, even when I'm out walking or exercising I feel her.  This stresses me out a tad bit since Juniper was a horrible sleeper from day 1 and she never stayed still.  Just under 24 hrs of being born Juni was lifting her head and she was taking steps at 9 months and that was a lot for me to handle so I can't imagine having another baby like that with a toddler.  I of course am hoping for the best, but I'm also preparing myself since those Wood genes only got more intense/energetic with each boy! Yikes lol
• This pregnancy I'm craving pasta and vinegar tasting things! Which is weird because I have an aversion to garlic and a lot of pasta has garlic in it.  Olive Garden salad has been on my mind 24/7, so much that I even got mad at the fact that Landon didn't order me out one one night... looking back on it now, it obviously was raging hungry pregnant hormones but at the time I wasn't happy about it. Poor Landy.
• My allergies have been really bad this pregnancy just like they were with Juni.  I was going on 2 wks of maybe 3-4 hrs of sleep a night because I literally couldn't breathe through my nose or mouth, thankfully that's passed!
• We still don't have a name for baby #2, with Juniper I knew before I was even having a girl, and at the time I had like 10 girl names for back up but this time around it's hard finding something that goes nicely with Juniper, something that isn't super crazy, or super trendy.  I have one in mind but we're still not set on it, so I spend like an hour a night looking at names! help!

20 Months Juniper
• Juniper is talking all the time now, in full sentences and everything we love it! She is so smart and knows how to count to 20, she knows her shapes and colors and she's known her ABCs since she was 14 months.  She's been picking up on everything we say too, which isn't always the best, whenever she drops something she says "oh freak" or "oh crap" and whenever I yawn (which is A LOT) she says "mama is tired" or "mama is sick" which is so sad to me, but it's hard to hide with being pregnant!
• She is obsessed with picking her nose right now, which has its pros and cons.  The only upside to it is she will stay still in one spot which she's picking or if she's in the car she won't scream or cry because she's busy picking and then the cons are obvious. I try to stop her but when it's there constantly it's hard to! I'm hoping she'll get out of that phase soon.
• She's finally started to eat good. Her favorite foods right now are salmon (#1 top food for her), raisins (#2) and grilled cheese sandwiches.  She is obsessed with ice cream and treats, obviously what child isn't! But I rarely give her them so when we go get an ice cream with Daddy she is over the moon excited.
• I've been going to the YMCA to workout everyday and Juniper loves the play place there, she of course hates when I initially leave but when I pick her up she is so happy to be there.  She loves to interact with other kids, she does better with older children and following them around.

My beautiful blued eyed baby doll. I seriously can't believe she's mine!

My Maternity Photos

6.08.2015

I originally didn't want to get maternity photos done, as a photographer I feel most comfortable behind the camera... especially now being pregnant and carrying more weight than usual! :) But I knew I needed to capture this time and I really am grateful that I'm able to carry this sweet baby of mine. I had Landon take these photos and he did so great for rarely using my camera, I directed each shot and I was really impressed with him shooting manually, go Landon!!
For a little update on my pregnancy, I was 31.5 weeks at the time I took these (I'm now 33 weeks!).  At 30 weeks I started getting nauseous again and my morning sickness came back, I thought I was getting the flu for an entire week until I realized it came at the same time every day and lasted until I fell asleep...duh Brittany!! That same thing happened to me when I found out I was pregnant lol.  I also have been in constant pain in my hips and in my lower belly as this baby keeps growing, and because of this my favorite place to be is the pool it seriously is my life saver and relaxes all of my aches and pains!  This little girl continues to keep me up with her kicks and movements at night and I absolutely love being able to feel her move.  Landon has been living at my mom's for the last 3 weeks for a rotation and I've been living alone because I still have to work in LA. I hate living alone especially sleeping alone, but it's been nice to have this little baby girl inside to keep my company and make me happy when I miss him, I can't wait for her to be my little side kick.  Every day I get more excited to meet her and see what she looks like! Only 7 more weeks!!

Pregnancy Update!

4.09.2015

18 weeks

20 weeks - Half way there!!

23 weeks in Barcelona, Spain

23.5 weeks in Spain

Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping the best record of this pregnancy... but as always I have excuses :) I was so sick in the beginning and once I started feeling good I was working everyday driving out to LA making me totally exhausted by the time I got home and then we went to Europe for 2 weeks and now I'm almost 25 weeks! Time was going so slow in the beginning and now I can't believe how fast it's flown.

Feeling Movement? : This little girly is an active little stinker, kicking and moving non stop.  I can see her kick through my five million layers of shirts and Landon was feeling her at 18 weeks. During one of her kicking sessions I counted 2-5 seconds in between each kick and it lasted for 2-3 hours, it was exhausting me that I don't understand how she kept going, I'm guessing she has daddy's energy?!

Ultrasound : We got to see her at our ultrasound appointment the morning we flew out to Spain, she is a little stinker and burrows her head constantly down into my pelvis (I can feel her when she does it daily and it burns!) The ultrasound tech couldn't get a profile shot of her because she was so nuzzled and stubborn but she was able to get a clear shot of her nose and full lips that were moving back and forth, it seriously melted my heart!

Here's a fun little survey I've seen other mamas answer that I thought I'd fill out!

How far along are you? I'll be 25 weeks in 2 days! 15 weeks left

How am I feeling? I felt amazing in Europe, we walked and climbed stairs all day and I was super impressed with my energy level but since I've been home jet lag has taken over and all I want to do is sleep. I also have felt a big growth spurt during the last couple days, hence my 12 hours of sleeping yesterday... yikes!

How big is baby? 1.5 lbs. - 8.5 in. The size of an ear of corn... according to my app :)

Maternity clothes? I've been wearing maternity pants/spandex since week 13 because baby girl sits SO low and I felt like I was smashing her.  Other than that I wear my regular clothes and am now on the hunt for some cute dresses for the warmer weather.

Stretch Marks? Not yet

Heart Burn? Thankfully not yet! I have a super long torso so I might get lucky and skip the heartburn part of pregnancy? Hopefully...

Sleep? I switch sides probably like 10 times every night with my million pillows and get up to go to the bathroom at least 3 times so sleeping isn't the best, but that's expected.  I also started getting my crazy intense dreams again which really make me feel like I don't sleep.

Best Moment of the week?  Best moment was seeing her full lips and little nose in the ultrasound before we left for our trip a few weeks ago, I wish I could see her everyday!

Food cravings? Chili! Which is the weirdest thing because I don't like meat that much and I rarely ate it before I was pregnant. I still don't eat it much, probably 1 every month but I think about it daily. lol I also crave fruit: oranges, strawberries and watermelon. And dang Europe got me on a sugar kick after eating their chocolate croissants everyday so now sugar is tempting.

Food aversions? I'm still not into onions or garlic which is sad because they used to be a favorite.

What I miss? Sitting with my legs crossed or just being able to sit normally! She sits really low, like I said before, and I have to stretch out my entire body just to get comfortable.

What I'm looking forward to? Finishing her nursery! When we got home from Europe, Landon and I bought and put together her crib, dresser and stroller/car seat that next day we got home. lol We were obviously excited.  Now we have everything in its place and now I'm just finishing on decorating, artwork and making her mobile!

1st Purchase!

1.29.2015

Here was my first baby purchase for our little one!  I'm the most impatient person ever and realllllly want (and in my mind really need) to know if we're having a baby boy or girl now!! (Landon is officially annoyed when I bring it up everyday, sorry babe)! It's not particularly real to me yet because I don't have much of a bump and in my mind I'd love to start thinking of him/her with their name, so I'm just impatiently waiting for a few more weeks...

Anyways back to the blanket, my mom has been wanting to take me baby shopping and I keep pushing it back until I know the gender so I can start looking through the clothes, so instead we went to a thrift store and spotted this bright colorful blanket in the very back corner at the top of a bookshelf, we both fell in love with it and thought it would be perfect for a baby girl or baby boy.  My first baby purchase!

Oh Baby!

1.28.2015

After trying to get pregnant for over a year and having an unfortunate miscarriage in August we are thrilled to share this exciting news!!! It hit me when I was at 4 weeks, I thought I had the flu and was in the bathroom all night, 2 days later I realized how my sickness only came at night... I took a pregnancy test on our 4th year anniversary early early in the morning and it was the best news ever! This might explain why I've been M.I.A for the last 3 months because of how sick I've felt! :( I continued to work and shoot but that was about all the effort I could do, all my social media platforms dwindled and died and all I really cared about was "eating"...the biggest challenge for me! But now that I've hit the 2nd trimester I am slowly starting to gain myself back and will try to catch up sharing everything I've been working on.

On the other hand, I'm really excited to bring some of this blog back to my personal life because that's how it all started way back in 2007. I'm hoping to document this pregnancy more with crafts I'm working on and things I'm finding for our little mini, all for my journal's sake. I didn't have the chance to really work on any personal projects last year because I was working so much in LA and once I'd get home the last thing I felt like was pulling out my camera again for more photos and more editing, but while I'll still be working lots I will try to remember to document everything!

And for all the last little details, I'm due July 27th! The one thing I've been craving and wanting this entire pregnancy is oranges! I honestly think oranges and orange juice kept me alive. The few things I can't stand the smell or taste of is bacon (it's the worst and feel like I may not be able to ever eat it again), onions and garlic. Landon has been such a support and will sadly not eat bacon for the next 6 months. :) And as for a baby bump, there is still nothing really there, I'm almost 15 wks and I'm starting to feel more stretching and growing this week but a belly hasn't popped out yet. I have the longest torso in the world so I'm curious when I'll have a cute bump.
