I've always imagined our place being all black and white, modern, clean and simple...
and then before I know it, I am taping up paintings,
nailing over-sized paper flowers to the wall and
then everything is covered from ceiling to floor.
So as much as I try to be sophisticated with what I think I want,
my artsy self always finds a way to make it in and with these pillows... it was the zippers!!
I went into the store planning on getting yellow (my fav. color) and then saw orange (my second fav color) and after the rainbow before my eyes I could decide and just got one of each. It definitely wasn't planned but turned out to be my favorite thing about these pillows.
>>> A little money saving tip is to buy sheets/duvet covers that you like and use that as fabric for your pillows/quilts! I searched online everywhere for a graphic, playful black and white fabric and all of the ones I fell in love with were designer... of course... meaning they were $15+ a yard and out of my price range for pillow covers. I found this fabric at IKEA, you probably recognize it as one of their new duvet covers. I spent $20 for it and have plenty of fabric left to cover a lamp shade, make padding for a bench we have, make a headscarf, decorate my plain white shirts with and pretty much anything else you could come up with. I saved at least $25 and had a lot of leftover fabric to be creative with!
