They are an Indian couple that moved to America to work and now are retiring and traveling around India. After we split ways in Jodiphur, they said to stop by their home in Chandigarh up North... so that's just what we did. We took a train from Varanasi, they picked us up in Chandigarh and took us to their home. Chandigarh is the only city in India built after European design and was almost like a little America. Their home was beautiful and we got a nice comfy bed, hot shower, and homemade Indian food every meal. It was a dream.
They took us to their favorite restaurants, took us to Indian art museums (which I lovedd), treated us just like their own family and even bought us clothes! We got to meet the rest of their family, participate in their worshipping-dance-chanting-flowers in our hair-gatherings, and really got to understand the Indian culture inside and out. We were even able to ask them serious questions about arranged marriage, how they felt about it and got to answer their questions about love marriage.
We grew so close to them, that is really was like saying goodbye to family when we had to leave. I didn't understand and still don't understand how we were so blessed with an opportunity like that. They were so open to us, loved us, and even promised us that if we brought our baby back to India that they would throw a huge Indian celebration... with elephants and fireworks... haha maybe one day. We wish that we weren't 8,000+ miles away and wish that we could bring them all back here to America to spoil and treat like they treated us!
