So maybe it's an understatement when I say us girls in the family go above and beyond sometimes. And maybe it's an

understatement when I say we spend way too much time on things that are not necessary. And maybe it's an understatement

when I say we love every minute of doing it.

Okay so this is the Rapunzal cake that was made for baby three year old Savanna's birthday. When I got home from the

airport all of the ladies [my sister, sister-in-law, and sister's sister-in-law... is that not confusing? Lets just stick to

family] were working on. After much tedious work and creativity.... Walah, the cake was finished at 2AM! YIKES.

I can't take much credit for this intense cake because I was off and on dancing to the Rapunzal soundtrack with Savi. But I

will tell you that Ace of Cakes is my favorite TV show besides I Love Lucy, and that I secretly hope to own a cute bakery

one day intertwining art with sweets soooo this little activity of building/making cakes is right up my alley.

It was a super fun thing to do with the gals and most importantly, Savanna loved it!!

Happy Birthday Papa Wood!!!

This is a special little post to commemorate my husband's dad's birthday!

Landon told me his favorite cake was Angel Food Cake so we had our own little

celebration today with our own cake!

This was my first Angel Food Cake I've ever made & I of course took photos like usual...

notice the feathers... thought it went hand in hand with the whole "angel" food cake.

plus, i needed a texture... and feathers were handy.

In the last four years Landon has lost both his mother & father to cancer. Last year we were

finally able to design, create and get their headstone made for their graves. At the end of last

summer we went up to Canada to deliver it, and the trip turned out to be quite the adventure!!

We hauled the tombstone all the way from Rexburg, ID to Cardston, AB Canada! And of course,

Landon stopped several/many, i mean innumerable times along the way for me to take

photos... Canada is the most green and clean place ever, I just loved it!!

We wanted to post this last summer but we saved it for today

(being that it's his dad's birthday).

Of course the most important part of the trip was getting the headstone put in and finally giving his parent's a proper grave site.

we designed the tombstone together and the highlight was the porcelain photo of their wedding engagement picture. The sepia tones went perfect with the red stone... which we know Mom would of loved. :)

Back in 1972

Before we headed over to the site to say our final goodbyes,

we gathered a bunch of wildflowers and made just the prettiest lil bouquet for them.

As you can see it's by far the coolest headstone there...

they are obviously still rockin' it.
