Savannah : Part 1

 At the last minute we decided to drive out to Savannah for this Memorial weekend.  I've always wanted to visit the south, Georgia in particular, and Savannah to be exact.  So this summer has been a dream for me to be visiting all these beautiful places and this weekend in particular was an extra little high for me.  I'll just say it, The South has stolen my heart and has made me want to move here permenantly.  The green draping trees, old colonial houses, buzzing of the beetles, the glow of the fireflies and the soul here has simply made me fall in love with it.  We drove out Sunday morning, tried to visit as much as we could, slept in our car (that's a whole different story), and woke up Monday morning to see the last bits and pieces.

We first drove out to Tybee Island and stopped at The Crab Shack, which in my opinion was a warm and best welcome to Savannah.  It was right on the water, humid as ever, full of alligators, and the best seafood that Landon and I have ever eaten.  We then stopped by the beach to touch the Atlantic and practically got blown away while we were there.  A tropical storm was on its way and it was so strong we could only visit for a few minutes.  We stopped probably a couple hundred times for me to take pictures of the mossy trees, my absolute favorite of Savannah, I seriously couldn't take enough photos which is why this is only Part 1 post.  We walked down the waterfront, ate Savannah's infamous pecan pralines, snacked on salt-water taffy, visited 1 of my 2 dream art schools, SCAD, and ate ice-cream at Leopold's Ice Cream Shop, claimed as the best in Georgia from The Food Network, The View, etc. We finally drove through the tip of South Carolina and found ourselves on the side of an old brick building asleep in our car.
