Bundi

5.13.2012

Flying on the plane for 6 hours gave me plenty of time to catch up on some of my India photos.  I came back to California to photograph a wedding last Friday and now I'm getting ready to fly back tomorrow! There are still lots of India posts to come, I know it may be the same to you, but for me it's like reliving all these great places again. It's my goal to have all of my 5,000 photos of India edited, find my favorites and have them in a book by the end of the summer!

Bundi had a small-town feel that we loved.  Our hostel was the nicest place we stayed at out of all of Rajasthan; they made us feel like family and we just had to stay there even longer!  Bundi had a locally owned abandoned palace and a fort on the tip top of the city. Since it was locally owned we didn't have to pay, with no annoying guides following us around.  It was built in 1354 AD, which to me is completely unreal to see wall paintings that date from back then, I was in heaven and took millions of photos of them.  And what I love most about India is how old their culture is and how the women still dress like the old paintings all over the walls, it is so inspiring and just thinking about it makes me want to go back already!

A little interesting story is while we were hiking up to the fort we were stopped by a random man telling us that there are tons of monkeys up there that attack you and that already a woman had gotten attacked that day.  He wanted to be our monkey-attacker for $4 but we just didn't want a random man with us while we were exploring, so we bought a stick instead to scare them away for 20¢, a much better deal in my opinion.  He warned us to be careful of the red monkeys and how vicious they are.  I instantly had unsettled nerves especially passing at least 50 sleeping monkeys in the fort ( we tried to count without making eye contact with any of them).  In the end, we didn't get attacked but we were very careful and took lots of videos to share!

ps. The last photo of the car was our driver's car that we got to ride in through Rajasthan.

I wish I finished blogging about my meso america trip, so no matter how "annoying" you think you may be just keep blogging and write as much as you can remember because before you know it most of the trip will probably get blurred together.
I love reading all your stories!
